I want to like this series. I'm extremely pleased to see a wide representation of people and that is awesome. However, I feel like the show goes overboard and basically reverts to very stereotypical representations rather than just regular characters being who they are. Rather than give examples (which would be spoilers) I guess the easiest description is just to stick to saying there are very stereotypical behaviors of various groups - gays, Jews, etc. I'm also not a big fan of some the music choices - again (me) thinking it goes a bit overboard with rap lyrics. I am not impressed with the type of animation employed - it's okay - but very scrappy for me. Not knowing these characters may have an influence on me - but I don't think so. I can't seem to connect with Lunella as a character but I honestly don't know why.

Safe to say that this is one of the WORST films I've ever forced myself to watch. It isn't about what it is about. It is not about the what happens due to the sun going dark. That is completely irrelevant. So here is my thoughts broken down. Positive: It's only 95 minutes. Negative: From the start when the patriarch is shown I realized I didn't care if he died. In fact, the sooner the better. The mentally unstable, totally screwed up family living in a stupidly overdecorated large home didn't at any time at all draw my empathy or sympathy. Someone should have shot Mr. Dad years ago. There was nothing tying anything to the purported event of the sun going dark and whoever mr. dad was asking to come save them did the world a favor by leaving him. Overall the characters were flat, boring, and had no reason to go back to that overdecorated home to begin with. The sons should have come by, grabbed little sister and psychodamaged mother and left mr. dad. Waste of film.

Just wow. I think the only redeeming quality of this "movie" was that it was filmed in living color. I stopped at one point to check to see if it was supposed to be a sort of comedy - maybe something that made fun of the worst of the worst in disaster movies. It isn't. The rest of the time I looked forward to it being over so I could write a review and feel like I vented my surprise at just how awful a movie could be. The acting was horrible. Horribly horrible. The storyline was ridiculous from start to finish. The effects, normally special effects, were ridiculous. Ridiculous movie. The characters were ridiculous. This was a truly stupid waste of time.
