Never read Rice, came into this cold. What the hell is Rowan's motivation to hang around NO and walk blithely into so many situations where she is manipulated like a simpleton? I can't count the number of unmotivated scenes, unfinished threads, disjointed plot leaps, on and on. It is a slog to try to comprehend the myth, and when does something horrifying happen? I'm six episodes in doing nothing but yawning. Two stars for nice wardrobe on Jack Huston.
