This felt like a series crammed into one book. There are so many things in this book, but many of them unfortunately feel unfinished. The romance isn't really explored beyond a couple of poorly-written spicy scenes.
The pacing is also very strange. Some sections are well described, whereas other sections seem rushed. There are seemingly random time-skips throughout the book.
(Slight spoiler)
This is another one of the books where the protagonist is strangely overpowered. She can do whatever she sets her mind to, and that lack of challenge breaks the immersion for me just a bit.
