I'm not surprised the film has such a low rating because people love to gatekeep when it comes to things being remade. This movie had a lot more backstory which made it tug at the heartstrings way more. I found it far more entertaining than the original film and that says a lot because I like that movie. It was visually stunning and, honestly, the story just made more sense than the 94 film. Ohh, also, far less obvious CGI LOL
