Lmao this album came to me at a perfect time. It's about getting out of a toxic/narcissistic relationship, healing from it, and accept who you are and always have been. A lot of people are hating on it because it's not like her past stuff. But I think that's what makes this great. You definitely see/hear Melanie's journey of self-growth throughout PORTALS, and that's the best thing a fan could ask for! I love EVIL, NYMPHOLOGY, and CONTORTIONIST. Those three are great examples of what the album is, that she's dealing and getting over her past experience in a narcissistic relationship, and music helps both her and many fans alike! I highly recommend this album. Not only if you are going through a toxic relationship (platonic or romantic), but even if you just want something funky and fun to vibe to. The aesthetic and sound of this album is GREAT
