I was 35 when it came out, and in all my life I’ve never felt the way about a movie as I did Annihilation. I saw it 7 times in theaters and dozens more at home. It’s the only time I can easily say the movie was so much better than the book (sorry Mr. Vandermeer), and as a huge science fiction reader, I feel like it’s saying a lot.
