As someone said it is not right to compare between books and on screen display, I shall refrain from doing that. Ray himself skipped lots of emotional contents from Pather Panchali. The onscreen display inevitably would have to adopt the story purely for technical and commercial reasons. With these boundary conditions set if I have to rate I shall give 10 on 10 to Abhishek Chaubey's Hungama...,absolutely awesome. Manoj Bajpayee is fantastic! The whole narrative is like a beautiful poem. Next is Srijit's Forget me not. 9 on 10. This is adopted substantially to suit Netflix audience, but it has definitely impressed with its suspense and thrill. The car accident scene is mind blowing. Then Bhanupriya, I would rate it 6.5 on 10, kaykay is good, the scene between the pirbaba and monk is impressive, but the whole presentation could have been better, the indiscriminate use of f word could have been avoided, it seemed out of place. The intimate scenes too seemed unnecessary. Finally, spotlight, the movie was going fine but didi and hero moments are disappointing, the casting of didi seemed to be incorrect, then supernatural action scenes made the whole thing go insane. So 5 on 10. Otherwise the whole series is must watch especially for hungama.. and forget me not.
