The game brings something special to the table - there are layers and layers of game elements to unveil.
If you go in like a normal shooter, at normal difficulty, you will pretty much get killed over and over. It took me a good 20 hours to sort of understand where the game was coming from, and at the same difficulty after a play through it would take 1/10 the time.
I love the homages to system shock (wrench and diverse options for specialization), bioshock (all that, plus art deco), and other games. It's clear the developers know those that came before.
It is a problem solver's game, and not one for rigid thinkers. Reflexes and constant sprinting won't get it done. In fact, whatever game style you specialize in, the problem you encounter WILL require another solution.
