Twisters is a spinoff from the original starring Daisy Edgar-Jones as Kate and Glen Powell as Tyler. Kate starts out as a student with her crew and experiences a massive tragedy at the hands of a tornado that ultimately ends her storm chasing career (note that during this tragedy, they use Dorothy). Tyler is an educated cowboy, tornado wrangler with a compassionate heart. Now, Tyler is a smug, egotistical man, but I can't deny that he has a heart for helping people and truly trying to understand the tornado. Kate believes that she can stop a tornado before it destroys homes. Here's where I was annoyed: There were cinematic moments that were just like the original movie without the cameos. I was looking for Helen Hunt in person or a picture to showcase the work her character did back in the day. There were many tropes in this movie and a lack of truly good writing because everything seemed very cliche. But as a writer trying to break into the business, I can't deny that this screenplay made it through (good or bad, that doesn't matter). Be sure to pick up Young Blood: The Hybrid Series, book 1 and kindly leave a review ;-)

This movie has a lot of good actors and actresses. They did their best with what they were given. Very cliche and a story that has been done but in a cringeworthy way. Why is this movie 2hrs? Why was the ending so rushed? We just skipped to it when Molly was still a hot mess. We lost a chunk of her adult awakening in the subplot. Why did Molly drink and party so much? Why did she feel more comfortable as a college student than an actual adult? Unfortunately, I would not recommend this.

I think that the issue with this movie is that this trope has been done before. Spouse is a secret agent/assassin, family is in danger because of their job/secrets, and now spouse (agent) has to fix what they messed up. There were funny moments and I definitely felt Emma's frustrations when things were falling apart for her. Cons: Emma was acting weird from the moment her husband woke up and he just didn't seem to be picking up on it. There were some awkward scenes between them that I suspect should have been sweet/loving. There's a scene when she hugs her husband in the hotel room and I wondered if the director instructed her to hug and kiss him like she just had a life or death experience. It felt incredibly awkward to me. Another thing, the organization hunting Emma was created by her father. I didn't understand why Emma didn't inherit it when he died. I needed more information. Also, Emma was paying someone to keep that organization from hunting her, but he was TERRIBLE at his job. Pros: Appreciated the action. Never saw Kaley in such a physical role with combat choreography. I think she was believable at times and did a great job. I'm also a fan of Kaley and David in separate projects so I was definitely going to watch this anyway. I recommend this movie.

Benicio Del Toro and Alicia Silverstone, yes please. I was hooked by the idea of seeing these two in a movie together. I was highly intrigued that they were a married couple and even more interested that Benicio was a detective. He's investigating a small town murder under mysterious circumstances. The mystery is why was the victim stabbed with so much force that the knife was lodged in her pelvis? Sadly, we never get the answer for that one. If you follow the direction of the camera for clues like when it pans closer to the victim's tattoo running down her spine, Justin Timberlake and Benicio's facial expressions, the handless faucet, the contractor flirting with the wife trope, then you'll be very disappointed to know that those aren't clues just dead storylines. It really doesn't seem like solid detective work gets us to the conclusion, but just a lot of luck and character stupidity. We make it to the end with the murder solved, but right before the end credits roll Benicio is making a mold of his hand with his wife in their renovated kitchen that doesn't match the decor/era of the rest of the house. Pros: Solid acting by everyone that I expected solid acting from like Alicia and Benicio - I hoped for more scenes between them because their chemistry was great. Also loved that Alicia's character was a true crime fan and helped Ben with some police work (should have used her more there).

Rebel Wilson wasn’t someone that I went to for a good laugh, but in this movie she surprised me. If you’re looking for a movie that tugs on your nostalgic heart strings then you’ve found the right one. Since the main character is stuck in the early 2000s, so is her fashion sense and music taste. So the audience is treated to music and redone music videos from that era. It was a blast from the past, and I loved it. So thank you Rebel for that! The movie is worth it!

I needed a few days to process what I watched before I could give this film an honest review. Firstly, Alexander S. was really great. He has an inane ability to play many different kinds of characters at many different ages. He also wasn’t just a good looking hero (there were a lot of good looking characters in the film for eye candy) he was emotional, calculating, and vengeful. He humanized the character. Secondly, I’m pretty sure this story is bathed in mythology even still it was a messed up life for these people and watching their struggle made me happy to be born in this era. There is a lot violence and gore, so keep that in mind if you’re bringing kids. I do recommend the film.

OK, let's into it. The story starts off with Marie and Ben treating each other lovey dovey and are all over each other. Once they get to the beach house and meet their friends Janina and Nils, the audience sees that Marie and Ben are a couple - THEY SWAPPED PARTNERS! They're not polyamorous, they're experimenting with each other's partner for 4 weeks with one rule - DON'T HAVE SEX. Well that's out the window especially when there's a pregnancy scare. However, the ridiculousness of the story, it actually delves into the fact that you need to know and understand what you want so that you're in and creating a healthy relationship with your partner. I do recommend it, but if you're watching it in English, it's dubbed.

Pros: the story starts right where we left off when there was an attempt at killing Laura and her friend, Olga. We’re introduced to a new character, Nacho, that is most definitely eye candy. We get a little more insight into Massimo’s mob business. Laura’s friend, Olga is here and she is the relief that we need since every other character is intense. Honestly, I could watch a movie from her point of view. Cons: I thought there was too much sex, but if I was a newlywed and that sexually attracted to my husband, then it’s not too much ;-) The storyline falls a little flat for me with Laura’s choices and how she’s integrated into Massimo’s lifestyle in Italy. If they’re not having sex then it feels like she’s just there and then used to move the story along, but the story doesn’t really go anywhere. We get some twists, but honestly these conflicts could have been resolved with better choices.

I haven't seen the documentary yet. I wanted to see what it was about by way of the Scam Goddess podcast. I found these reviews and wanted to add roommate situation. I let my younger sister live with me until she could get back on her feet since she had nowhere to go. She had just been permanently kicked out of our parent's home and was forced to distance herself from her daughter. I felt bad for her so let I her come stay with me on my couch since I only had a 1 bedroom. The first couple of days went by without any issues as she was looking for jobs and we were getting along. Then it all went to hell. She stopped taking her medicine so she was up all night and then sleeping during the day. She stopped leaving the apartment. Kept hitting and cutting herself and lying about it to me. I found out that she was reading my text messages. This is only a summation as I won't go into the details. A disastrous and violent night ended her stay with me. The police had to take her out of my apartment because she wouldn't leave voluntarily. I think that we should be honest with ourselves and be honest about our realities when letting family live with us. I truly felt like I was unsafe in my own home and I was lucky enough to have the police on my side during the incident, but others aren't that lucky. It's a shame that people are okay with using others and manipulating their kindness.
