There’s something really disgusting about the fact that at the same time as a show like Squid Games comes out, which is a critical social commentary on the negative sides of capitalism and how it destroys people mentally and physically, people have taken to replicating the actual games themselves for entertainment. This is the result of a society where increasingly, the only value placed on people is money. Your ability to make money and how much of it you have becomes the only thing that matters to your identity. It’s a very sad commentary that while Squid Games was meant to wake people up, instead, it’s lead to replication of a dystopian game meant to be tongue in cheek.
