This was surprisingly really bad. Did Malek read the script when he agreed to do the movie? Or did he take on the role because he needed a paycheck? Ok we already know from the previews his wife was killed and he wanted to avenge her death. Once his wife died, anything with a semblance with reality was dropped and the movie just went unrealistic, hokey and bad. It could have been a good movie. Sure there's parts of the movie that was engaging, but there's just too many instances where there's gaps in the plot and Charlie had magically done xyz off screen and saves his ass. Even the ending was bad. Skip going to the movie theater for The Amateur. I'm not even sure it's worth watching on streaming once it's out there, but at least it will be free.
