You go to watch an A-rated movie; you get an A-rated movie, so please don’t complain about it.
This movie should get an award for the amazing trailers and the hype it has managed to create despite being average. It isn’t as amazing as the trailers promised, but it’s not bad either. It’s a one-time watch with a few bold scenes and a lot of unnecessary bloodshed, which was quite excessive and could have been reduced to make the movie more realistic. There were around 1000 fatalities in the movie and not one policeman in the whole movie. I wouldn’t call it a great, grand blockbuster must-watch kind of movie, but considering the money it’s making, it has made people like me curious for sure.
If you’re easily provoked, offended, or triggered by such movies, you should avoid it; mental peace over everything.
If the movie is being appreciated so much, a huge chunk of that appreciation is for the director of the movie who is also the writer, Sandeep Reddy. He has done a very good job, and so has Ranbir Kapoor. RK has worked really hard for this movie and it shows; he has been utilized very well.
It’s not true that Ranbir has copied Sanjay Dutt. He grew his hair, and it’s just that his look resembled how he looked in Sanju; that’s it.
However, I think the director gave his best in Kabir Singh, and now he’s just on steroids making a full-blown masala movie, making full use of Ranbir Kapoor’s potential.
The smoking in the movie just doesn’t stop, and it’s sad and unfortunate that this is how looking cool is portrayed even in 2023. Ranbir and Bobby have flaunted great physiques, but it’s still not “cool” to show someone working out or eating right, and therefore, it wasn’t shown.
Rashmika was good because she is a phenomenal actress, but I’m not sure why she was cast for this movie unless the script demanded an actress who speaks Hindi in a South Indian accent. Nine out of ten lines she spoke were spoken with a clenched jaw.
The hype around Bobby Deol confused me beyond words. I don’t understand why he’s being appreciated so much for a role that was this short. Very happy for his long-awaited success and comeback, though.
The best part about the movie was the background score and the fact that despite being a very long movie, you barely realize how long it has been; it’s quite gripping.
I am neither disappointed not overwhelmed
