Very disappointed. I wanted so much for it to be a great return to form from the biggest Metal band ever but alas, amidst the respectable Hetfield riffage Kirk's boring rehash of blues scales and wah makes me cringe. Lars who we all know is no Mike Portnoy but always reliable and solid, here strips back to nothing leaving Rob hanging who is doing his best to accompany him, trying to keep this ageing truck's motor running. Death Magnetic was the album St. Anger could have been and the album Hardwired tried to be but 72 seasons for me is The Album That Should Not Be. Sorry. I'm glad so many of you like it but I don't. ✌️
