Read the production crew list and that should tell you everything you need to know about this film before you ever press play. The director is Paul W.S. Anderson. So you KNOW his wife, Milla Jovovich, will either star or co-star in the film. Case in point, she co-stars with Dave Bautista in the werewolf centric sci-fi fantasy.
The plot is simple: a witch (Jovovich) goes in search of a power that allows a person to become a werewolf, bringing a hunter (Bautista) along for back-up. Yup...that's all.
If you're expecting "UNDERWORLD" sans vamps, but rife with witchery, you will be disappointed. But, after God knows how many films Anderson has directed Jovovich, the formula should be well known by now.
However, there's enough silly fun and Mortal Kombat-era (1995) seasoning to enjoy this adaptation of a George R.R. Martin short story. (Yes. THAT George). This will go down as a film that's so terrible, it's rather enjoyable...in a train-wreck-cant-stop-looking, sort of way.
