After reading the book,and listening to the audio book read by Douglas Adams himself I was delighted that this tv series had captured the essence of the characters. My only disappointment was that there were not more episodes made. Dirk's holistic investigation of the whole crime takes you through the twists and turns of the case by seemingly unrelated events,but arriving at the solution,and his method of zen navigation by means of following somebody who looks as though they know where they are going,gets him rather than where he wants to be,but where he needs to be in order to solve the case.
