What a load of old rubbish! It was one of those series that I increasingly wondered why I was continuing to watch it, but having invested the time to watch the first three or four episodes I felt I had to see it through to the end. But it must be one of the worst TV drama series I’ve ever seen.
The thing that really stood out for me was that every single one of the characters was unpleasant, bordering on loathsome. In the end, I didn’t care which of them met a gruesome end, including stupid Beth, who could’ve freed herself simply by pulling the handle off the oven door, but instead just sat there wailing.
And Emma, the character played by Jill Halfpenny was as bad as the rest – I don’t know if we were supposed to empathise with her, but I couldn’t stand her. JH seems to play the same stroppy character in every channel 5 drama series, and I’m going to actively avoid watching any in the future where she is a lead character.
