Excellent work, BBC! I much prefer the dark, gritty period dramas and real-life documentaries to their pathetic, sugar candy, celebrity shows - I guess they have to cater for a varied audience.
I thought the script was very clever, it dug deep into the psychology of human anger, there were some great moments of suspense, bordering on fantasy horror and concluded matters in a very entertaining fashion. The street scenes were brilliant, this was more like the real Charles Dickens, Victorian England than all the other attempts at dramatising this timeless classic.
