I was living in Ohio, working for one of the biggest companies in the world, and assigned to help its employees to be happier and more effective at work. Searching for ways to do that, I came across a new book by an organizational development professor, Stephen Covey. In 1989 I bought a copy on a business trip and then a set of Dr. Covey's cassette tapes. Other professionals in my company were doing the same thing and soon we were referring employees to the book's ideas and eventually teaching courses offered by the Covey Leadership Center. My own life has never been the same. I can understand where my successes and failures have come from because of these seven habits and I've probably avoided a few failures because of them too. What a profound blessing they have been to me.
