Awful. Terrible. Boring, plodding, and trite. I watched it off of Netflix because I've always meant to, and couldn't understand why it's considered a classic. The 3 hour long (seemed like) epic could have been boiled down to 4 scenes; those being The first Russian roulette scene, the second Russian roulette scene, the final Russian roulette scene, and the wedding. Except that would ignore how the wedding scene was basically a 45 minute stand-alone nod to traditional Russian Catholic ceremonies. So two movies, with a 5 min. Deer hunting intermission. The Wedding, and the Russian Roulette, cubed. What a waste of time and money. I wish I could get back the time I spent watching it, but alas no. What makes me really upset about it, is it should have been awesome, because it's packed with some of my most favorite actors, and Merryl Streep. So for real, how do you F*#$& that up?!?!
