This game kind of gets a bad reputation, I do understand why, but I still like the game. Resident evil 3 was a pretty large game with multiple locations. This game cuts a lot of these locations and it doesn’t feel like a full game, more like an expansion. I believe the game should have come out at $30- $40 for that reason. This game has weapon unlocks and stat boosters for Jill which warrant multiple play throughs and add replay ability. This game is more action oriented than resident evil 2 remake. This stays somewhat true to the old games story, however the are practically no puzzles here unfortunately. Resident Evil 3 on PlayStation also had a choice system when nemesis arrived, that impacted future scenarios. This is all absent in the remake as well. Compared to resident evil 3 on PlayStation, it is less than, no doubt. I am judging the game on its own merit for my score. I did have a lot of fun with the game and have played it multiple times alongside resident evil 2 remake. The combat is tight and satisfying, there is a sense of tension and eeriness throughout the game which stays till the end. This game offers a short but tight experience that keeps you engaged the whole way. There wasn’t a point where I’m like can’t wait to get through this section. I really enjoyed the story and gameplay and have replayed it many times because of it. I also enjoyed Jill’s character very much in this story, she’s tough. Jill also has a small arc in the story, Carlos is well written as well . Like I said if you pay $30 to $40 I think it’s worth it. If you pay $60 or compare it to resident evil 3 on PlayStation, you might feel somewhat disappointed.
