There are not many books I do not like, but this one definitely fits into the “do not like” category. The writing is sophomoric. The author seems to have had a thesaurus next to her as she found nearly every synonym for the word laugh such as guffaw, snort, and chortle. The effort seemed strained. I did not care for the character of Poppy. She is shallow, mean spirited, and immature. Alex was one dimensional and bland - I guess that was on purpose. Perhaps my dislike for this book was related to the fact that l listened to it instead of reading it. I didn’t care for the reader’s voice or how she tried to sound like a man with the male characters. The sex scene got to be a bit much. The airport metaphor toward the end of the book was simplistic and obvious. However, I found the travel scenes interesting and compelling.
