I really don't see how people enjoyed this movie. *Spoilers Nothing happened throughout the entire film. Arthur Fleck started off as insane from the very start of the movie we didn't watch his descent into madness. Everything that happened was an accident. He randomly gets given a gun by a coworker that wants him to get fired. Then gets attacked on a subway and shoots people attacking him. Then all these poor people thought it was such an amazing thing just some random shooting. The whole romantic part was a waste of time and didn't lead anywhere. The part where he finds out his mother was delusional isn't a crazy twist as Arthur obviously had a messed up childhood so that is to be expected. He kills his mother because she miss treated him and lied to him. That's not him going insane that's him being angry at his mother. At the end when he shoots the TV host he is just a man who has nothing to lose and doesn't care if he dies or gets locked up. He is the exact same as a school shooter who just doesn't care what happens. He isn't at all special and he had no plan. He didn't even mean to get on the show. That was a complete accident. Also this isn't the Joker to any extent. Just because someone puts on clown makeup and shoots some randoms doesn't make them the Joker. Everything he did he did out of some obvious motive. That isn't the Joker. The genius of the Joker is that he has no motive and does things just for the sake of it and to prove that nothing matters. An actual Joker character wouldn't act on emotions but this Joker did. All round this movie was a whole lot of nothing. Nothing happened until the very end of the movie. It was just a loop of him randomly doing meaningless things until the last 10 minutes when something actually happened. The Joker isn't suppose to be insane. His suppose to be a completely sane individual who sees that nothing matters and that everything that people believe in is all made up to control them. Nothing happened in this movies and Arthur Fleck was just a random crazy guy not the Joker.
