The author can write excellent magazine articles (which you can see on the first two chapters), but to write a book that holds together you need a bit different strategy.
Readers with previous interest in the area (and knowledge of the main popular authors in the field e.g. Kaheman and Dweck), will not learn much, on the contrary will find extensive citations from already familiar works.
The practical guide to not falling into the intelligence trap is relatively modest and you probably have read all the tips elsewhere.
I was thinking whether the book could be an entry-level introduction to the field, but I am not sure how complete and balanced picture it presents.
