In James Ellroy's novel THIS STORM (2019) one of the main characters scrawls on an important wall "America Forever !!!" (p.480) At the end, the ~heroine writes: "This is my war and my country. Do not mock the love I have for both." (p. 581). Although the one here in question is the Atomic War aka WW2, a straight line runs therefrom to the South Korean puppet army's massacre in the city of Gwangju, South Korea, from May 18 to May 27, 1980 of thousands of civilian protesters, especially students from Chonnam University. The constant bang-bang and swirling perversities of Elloy's bizarre concoction are shown in later historical reality by the majesty of director Jang Hoon's masterpiece A TAXI DRIVER (2017). Ellroy reveals himself as a typical cultural stooge for JAR, the JewAmerican Empire, whereas the Korean filmmakers fearlessly shine truth's bright light on JAPE*s modern atrocities [*=..Planetary Empire]. This drama brings hope to our whole HuRa.
And with first-class production values, too!
