A legendary character is given a right proper ending. I will miss Daniel Craig, but I will never regret him ending his stint so well. Simultaneously the most brutal and sensitive Bond of all.

It repairs 80% of the damage done by The Last Jedi and gives a wonderful closure to the love/hate arc of Rey and Kylo Ren. It made me wish Abrams had done TLJ. Yes, it was a little off in the logic and structure, but I do credit that to spending so much effort in correcting Rian Johnson's out of left field characterizations and a sincere attempt to make an exciting adventure. If you saw Star Wars for the first time in 1977 as a kid, go see this. Go see it twice, just to give your vote to what we love about the ultimate Good v. Evil movie franchise. We need more myth and less myth-takes.

By the time the film is over, you feel you were Batman. And you wished you weren't. As it should be.

Disappointed in the thinness of the plot, it's supposed depth is mostly in its emotional appeal to father-son relationships, which was too blank in the backstory for me to care. It will resonate with those who have alienation from their abusive fathers, I am sure, but that one merit does not a great film make. I am still baffled by the space baboons and black tie on blak shirt dress uniforms, but found much of the production design and cinematography well done.
