Ashley “Hee-hee Man” Stevens

Honestly, I don’t like the show. I watched it with my fiancée, and we just don’t find it funny. The main character seems like a lowkey racist, entitled bully that doesn’t actually care about anything but how other people view her. I see some people comparing this to The Office, but it just doesn’t have the same character depth. It feels like all we do is follow Leslie through her experiences and everyone else is just there to be the butt of a joke (which I understand is the intention, but still). I’m not a “sexist middle aged man” as one of these reviews so blatantly wanted to mention, and I’m allowed to believe that this show is full of dry humor and straight-up unprecedented hazing. It’s been a long time since I’ve seen such an openly anti-foreigner main character that everyone loves, and I think that says a lot about the direction America and its people are heading. My fiancée and I are both AFABs that are from various cultural backgrounds, most of which have been avidly disrespected in this show because of how poorly they wrote these characters. The show is boring, unfunny, and has a great premise but the characters are frankly annoying. Thank you for your time; I hope this gives some unbiased insight into this show before you watch it. I would watch it if the characters were different to be honest.
