Don’t waste your time with this book. There is no plot and is essentially a propaganda book force-fed by the Canadian government to high-schoolers. There is absolutely no goal in this book. The characters are going north, but it is never explained why. What is the goal of their journey? Even if they get north, what then? What will they have achieved in the end? (They don’t even make it to the north lmao). When RiRi and Minerva died, I genuinely couldn’t care less. They were useless to the plot and had no development (like every other character in the book). Long story short, don’t read this book. Saying it’s a waste of time would be an understatement. If you are reading this in school, I am so sorry.
