This book gives a clear and poignant picture of the "real" New Orleans, how struggle outweighed City Hall, how fighting in hearts & minds & souls these survivors of history, coped with life & politics. Heartwarming, sad.
Ethically, this story needed to be told. One family among many who have overcame the odds & one woman who told the truth. I loved the book.
