Minecraft Dungeons is a brilliant game, and is to this day one of my favorite games of all time, alongside Minecraft: Java Edition. Not only does the game look and feel amazing while playing it, the actual gameplay mechanics are quite clever as well, particularly in the way characters are built.
Instead of having a complex system involving classes, the character has a melee weapon slot, a single armor slot, a ranged weapon slot, and three artifact slots. Each weapon and armor piece has different traits and can be equipped with up to 3 randomly chosen enchantments to enhance them, while the artifacts grant various skills akin to spells from other dungeons crawlers. This system, among other things, helps make Minecraft Dungeons much more accessible and flexible than other dungeons crawlers. And this is only scratching the surface of the ingenuities within this game.
However, as awesome as Minecraft Dungeons is, there is still much room for improvement. One of the biggest problems that Minecraft Dungeons faces, is its endgame. Right there are no less than four features devoted to the endgame - Apocalypse+, Daily Trials, Ancient Hunts, and Raid Captains. Though the endgame is worlds better than it used to be thanks to these features, they all fall short of making the endgame truly interesting. Mojang knows this though, and they are always trying their best to look for ways to improve the game. Despite this, if they can't figure out how to make the endgame truly interesting fast enough, the game will lose a lot of players because of it.
However, at the end of the day, even though Minecraft Dungeons isn't perfect, I absolutely love the game, and it will have a special place in my heart for many years to come.
