This film is a genuine mockery to the author and the book. It felt genuinely painful to watch every moment filled with sappy overacting. the overwhelming cringe was palpable. not to mention the ending... im a fairly religious person but the ending was truly horrendous. like spitting in the face of the "challenges" and all of the pitiful attempts of "escalation" the writers pursued throughout the scenes. culminating in a Scooby Doo esk sunshine and rainbow ending because "by the grace of God" everything will most definitely be ok. 0/10. would recommend to nobody, film could certainly be used as a tool of sorts for lovecraftian mental torture.
