I guess I'd give it more stars if the novels weren't fresh in my mind. I re-read the entire series because I was SUPER excited for the show coming out... a terrible mistake on my behalf. My first attempt lasted maybe ten minutes? I turned it off a few minutes into the inn scene. I've managed to watch a few episodes since, and I'm sure I would actually be enjoying it if the novels were a distant foggy memory in my mind. It's certainly not a bad adoption, but if you've got a keen memory for details you might find it incredibly jarring and actually a chore to watch like I have. I'll probably revisit it in a few years and see how I go.
