I enjoyed the Rat King segment of this movie. I will also say that the practical and VFX as well as the acting for the most part were awesome! That being said I feel the story (of each individual piece) were hard to follow and none of the film was really cohesive. I know it isn’t meant to be but usually in a compilation horror you FEEL as though there are things holding the individual stories together. If that doesn’t exist the stories REALLY need to hold on their own and these generally didn’t. I don’t want to comment on the individual stories bases because maybe there is more too then that I missed but I can certainly say NONE of the stories made me feel frightened, spooked or really even uneasy. In some of the shorts the concept was there to make you feel uncomfortable but the pacing was off, or they didn’t let the fear play out or another factor lead to just watching a film with good production. I really wouldn’t have been this harsh on the film but I saw a large amount of reviews putting it near the top of the mountain for found footage films. It is frankly no where near there and I was pretty mad that I was tricked into getting hyped up for this very subpar (when your told its top 5 of all time found footage) “found footage” horror film. Also 50 percent of the time the found footage element feels incredibly lazy. I can put a filter with a battery over my videos too, but I’m not selling you a film.if I wasn’t told this was god tier I may have even suggested it to friends as a fun watch, but that’s not the case
