I never read the novel, but it was said to be based off loosely so I don't know why people are annoyed that it's not exactly like the novel. It was an interesting movie. Apart from a few sappy lines it was fun to watch with the family. The ending was a bit depressing and a few parts confused me but still... Chris Pratt and millie Bobby brown delivered an entertaining clean film. Wouldn't be my first choice to watch again though.
