I’ve read a few reviews that say John Mulaney doesn’t give us enough of himself in this special. I totally disagree. I loved it and I appreciated what he shared. I thought it was honest and funny, cynical and a little heartbreaking, but somehow also very optimistic. He’s a dad now, and he’s sober. I don’t need to know about the scandals, I appreciated the very personal stories he chose to share and I think the special was great.
