TLDR-Game is too focused on ranked play, not new player friendly, lots of characters to choose from but a lot of them fall short of playable in today's matches. gotta do a lot of research just to enjoy game normally. I have played the game since 2013 and can honestly say its just getting worse not better. they try to reach out to bring in new blood to the game without balancing their champs correctly. this leads to the learning curve for this game being dramatically high. If you do not do at least 15 hours of research into the champ you want to play and learn what changes were done to every champ (125+ champs in the game atm) every patch (usually every 2 weeks or so) you will be destroyed in lane then flamed by your teammates. honestly this is one of the most toxic communities I've ever played with, yea you'll get a good few games in here and there but overall your games will be abysmal unless you play with friends. they try to give their champs fun mechanics and state they want to diversify the game but they spend too much time focusing on their "golden children" or champs that see pro play and end up over powering champs forcing the game to be "if you don't pick 1 of these 5 or so champs your going to have a bad time" which in turn forces new players to leave champs they think are cool on the back burner so they can have a decent game for once. The game has taken a mobility focus over the past few years which leaves a lot of old champs in the dust. really use to love this game and I have spent A LOT of money on it because I supported the game to this point but I would not recommend this game to new players. you're much better off playing something else
