A slow and predictable show, with clichéd dialogue and flat lines. Despite a strong cast, the spark just isn’t there. So many plot points don’t make sense, which is disappointing as I was really looking forward to this. Hopefully, it picks up in the last episodes.

Soooo overated!!!
The book starts off strong with an interesting concept but quickly becomes repetitive and cringeworthy. It portrays Hollywood success as easily attainable while love remains perpetually out of reach. The clichéd sex scenes (and the book in general) feel like they were written by a straight male, and the story fails to delve into the real challenges faced by Evelyn. It glosses over the difficulties of acting and being a woman from a poor background in Hollywood during that era. Instead, everything revolves around (straight and homosexual) love and superficial notions of feminism.
I would say that this book is not engaging for readers over the age of 22.

Waste of time. An old man who likes women. These women are either fragile or manipulative. In between, a state’s secret. That will remain secret. Because of his love for women. This movie won’t change your life.
