I related to this show so much and have never cried so much in my life. I dated a “Sean” and had a “Maddy” I even had a mother who always thought about her own feelings, a dad that had a bad what I call “work rage”, and a brother who lives to throw me under the bus. Constantly getting bullied, changing and flunking out of schools, broke, addiction etc. This show in my opinion shows the traumatizing effects of emotional, mental, and verbal abuse/gaslighting and also teaches us to be a little more understanding, that we really don’t know what someone is going through and we react to quickly to others mistakes or shortcomings. With everything that Alex was going through she had so much integrity and kept pushing for Maddy. I was sweating and crying watching Alex go through her hardships, I’ve felt that pressure before and I’ll just say the acting was authentic! The love that she has for Maddy was touching and powerful it brought tears to my eyes. Wonderful show and I’m waiting for next season, I hope Alex and Maddy thrive!
