If you like an artsy feel and pretty costumes... that's about all this film has. The plot is painfully slow with very little story or anything happening. They solely rely on the cinematography and forgot to tell a story. I love horror, vampires, and the 19th century, so I had high hopes. How could something that encompasses all my favorite things be so bad? My husband also shared my opinion. When we were 1.5hr in I turned to him and said, "this is getting painful." He replied, "finally, I thought you'd never say it!" It did not improve. He insisted we watch a real horror film immediately after to erase the bad taste. I opted for a nap because it made me sleepy while he watched Terrifier 1 through 3.
