I loved this book…a different kind of post WWII espionage story told from the perspective of one of its collateral victims. The son of a woman who goes undercover for the English foreign service & whose father is too damaged by the war to stick around, along with his older sister, is left to basically raise himself. The revelations he uncovers about his mothers life later in his own life can’t heal his brokenness or the damage he’s come to recognize he’s caused in the lives of others.
