When I started watching, it was slow and theatrical. Then it got a bit better in season 3.
Now, after the writers lost their vision of “the “walking dead”, and turned the real monsters out of the human characters, that’s when the future of this show was limited due to the concept of zombies turned into a soap opera of characters becoming evil monsters. The zombies were just the back ground drop of the show.
The writers wrote in bad ass characters and then killed them off. I wanted to stop my binge watch immediately, but I suffered up to season 8 when Rick assembled an army to fight the evil Keenan. Well, the writers ✍️ lost their window to allow the zombies to evolve into other types of zombies 🧟 that were harder to kill, that’s came self aware, etc, but no, the writers wrote in soap opera bullshit and there by losing the opportunity to be more creative with the zombies. This show would still be on today if they would have done that.
But no, they came back with Rick in Fear the Dead, then Darrel Dixon and another spin off just to continue the soap opera BS of evil humans instead of an evolved zombie population who should have been stealing the show.
Of course with the cliff hanger each week when it was on, it was impossible not for the viewer to tune in each week. But now that it’s available to binge watch, I’m only watching to see how much the writers screwed up the chance to make a zombie series ABOUT FREAKING ZOMBIES!! Not a soap opera “reality feel” script where the humans group up and kill each other over resources. Nothing about the walking dead.
So, this show could have been the longest running show in history with special FX constantly evolving and surprising the audience with cool creatures and maybe an evil scientist or two manipulating the genes in the zombie to be an efficient killing machine.
Beating the brains out of cool characters with a bat, and pitting apocalypse communities against one another was a longgggg dragged out series of the same ole same ole!
Well, what can I expect from man bun liberals and overweight chick writers who have no vision.
This could have been a GREAT show, but all this is to me is like a large penis that can’t ever get hard. It’s attractive to look at, but fundamentally functionless.
