This supernatural drama would have easily been five stars, except for the editing decision to cut it into five-to-seven-minute segments, interspersed with equal length commercials. Maybe they thought this was building tension; my response was building annoyance. One of the beauties of British TV series is their presentation in one continuous episode. What was done to ‘The Rising’ was the ugly opposite.
