The only thing that director Sandeep Reddy Vanga got right in this movie - TOXIC MASCULINITY.
In this era, where gender is no longer a criteria for power or 'paisa', Mr. Vanga decided to bring back the crazy 80s and 90s on-screen personas and milk it for moolah. And he did it well! So kudos to him for that.
Ranbir Kapoor, a father to a daughter in real-life, here are some questions for you:
Would you allow your daughter to be wooed by a Rannvijay Singh Balbir? Would you sleep peacefully after, knowing that your daughter has been chosen not for her intelligence or prowess, but merely her pelvis size?
It is only obvious that Ranbir has been struggling egoistically to have a more successful wife in real life, hence probably decided to do some pseudo-alpha male mortifying act onscreen, to literally, SAVE HIS FACE AND A**.
Never found him appealing since the sad boy act in 'Ae Dil Hai Mushkil', and sorry to say, its all downhill from there wrt his acting skills.
A word of advice to the sensible people, now that this movie is on OTT and can be widely accessed by young and old, alike. AVOID.
It is not ok to objectify any person (woman or man), to the extent it has been done in this movie. Women are not sex objects; Men are not libido machines.
