An absolutely important series for perspective on our country's system(s), and how both insidious AND overt white privilege, conscious AND subconscious bias, and racism exist in our world. Watch with an open mind and simply pause to notice/understand that MOST white people are treated differently in many many many situations than MOST black, brown, indigenous, immigrants, and other minority groups are treated. Kneeling during the anthem and taking a strong stance to protest and discuss the outdated, systematically racist (and sexist) framework of America is exactly what's needed to create equality for ALL. I am a USAF Veteran, and I fought for the right for people to talk about the parts of our country that are clearly broken and need total reform. Colin in Black and White is the very human and personal backstory of a man who publicly brought awareness and spotlight to a broken, damaging, and sometimes deadly, white-priveleged system based solely on the color of one's skin. It provides perspective for people, people like me, who haven't had those same experiences. Watch without defensiveness and judgment... instead, watch with some perspective and humanity so that progress forward FOR ALL can be made.
