Moving. Beautifully written and well-researched. A tribute to two extraordinarily courageous grandmothers in the face of unspeakable barbarity as well as the wider brave family. Although the family was relatively “lucky,” in comparison with many of the millions of European Jews in German and Soviet territories during World War 2, it will reduce you to tears within pages, as well as creating a memorable impression of an extraordinary close-knit family. It also helps to shed a little light on today’s problems in the Middle East.
