(NO SPOILERS) What a waste of my time, money, and brain cells! This film was a low effort and very corporate attempt at heartwarming family movie. The movie dragged on for what seemed to be multiple hours and had a basic plot that has been done countless times. Due to the many positive reviews and high scores, I thought that it would be a satisfactory watch, but The Wild Robot was far from that. I found myself more interested with the films in the previews than I had in the movie once it was over. I can safely say that I took away no new outlooks or morals after seeing this because I’ve already learnt them like 20 times! Although the animation and art style was spectacular and endearing, the movie itself was far from that. I wish that Dreamworks, a studio that I’m particularly fond of, would have put this animation skill to a better storyline. I found the writing very slow paced and violent for no good reason other than shock value. Please do yourself a favor and spare an hour of your life to see something higher quality.
