I'm hooked on this show because of the landscapes of Montana and the various factions that want to control this beautiful land. The Dutton family is a breed apart, but it seems obvious to me they know their way of life is ending beyond their control, but still kill & murder with little impunity. There is a lawlessness about this family and yet they pretend to be moral with a greater cause which supersedes all others. Maybe a ranch of this magnitude made sense in the 1880s, but not in the 2020's. I think the gratuitous violence and sex does not add to the story, but is there to stimulate viewership. It seems to be working because it is a quality series but is still heavily flawed like many of the Dutton family themselves. Beth is immoral without any conscience and delves in many depravities. I like looking at her for her sheer beauty
but I dislike her for her rough and crude demeanor.
John Dutton played by Kevin Costner shows his skills and his acting prowess. Some of the stories don't make sense and the writing could be much better. He should take responsibility for that and leave the writing to others.
