'There Was A Country' consists of 2 major parts. The first part is all about the decline of Nigeria- Biafra War. The second part spoke about the traditional culture for the eastern part of the country, showing how rich it is. The presented his lamentation due to the experience of war witnessing he had -hence the book is а piece of non-fiction, rich in historical telling, that focuses on the past occurrence leading to the decline of Nigeria today. It also focuses on the writer convincing that people can learn from their mistakes and make necessary corrections through change, especially for a better Nigeria.
