I have to admit, driving to work and listening to NPR/CPR discuss this documentary, I thought to myself, "Why would I go see this,...I lived through this?" I was wrong. I hope everyone who reads this review goes to see this movie. It is no less inspiring in 2021 than it was in 2018 when it was happening.
The documentary covers many individual perspectives and asks the audience to consider the reality that science, religion, innovation, collaboration, and humanity combine forces to save the Wild Boars. It showcases the individuals and their thought processes during this situation using actual as well as reenacted footage.
However, the beauty of this film is that it incorporates many voices, honest and at times gut-wrenching voices, to highlight the enormity of a singular task - save the lives of others. One can only hope that if faced with similar circumstances, we could all be this brave.
Spoiler alert - bring tissue.
