There's so many things to appreciate about this album. It flows so perfectly and sounds like one of the most cohesive albums of recent times. Selena sings effortlessly and sounds extremely comfortable and laid back in her sounds which is amazing and makes her sound confident. The first half is more dance and radio centred and the second half has more lyrics. I think people were expecting a more confessional and deep album but what Selena wanted to do was a fun album about loving yourself and dancing in your own company.
My only complaint with the album is the lack of good bridges in most songs, I think Julia Michaels and Justin Tranter could've been used better and we could have had some deep lyrics for the bridges and that would have made the album reach universal acclaim.
One really strong element of the album is the production, I cannot remember when was the last time I heard a pop album and I noticed the production stand out. Selena has an amazing team and that makes this album really strong.
I am so excited about this album and everything Selena is headed towards in terms of the sound and genre. The most iconic thing about the album is that I cannot see anyone else ever make an album like this and that is why for the first time Selena's album sounds like her own.
