Every Saturday morning, after cartoons, followed by the iconic "Soul Train". I was very lucky to grow up in this era where our lives were filled with happiness and music. It was a simple and great time to be alive! Dancing in my pj's, empty cereal bowl on the floor beside me. Only the warm colorful milky remnants of Lucky Charms. Not a marshmallow left in sight. Music blaring out of the 27" color Zenith. No base, the sound. static and tinny. It didn't matter. As long as we had the sound of youth running through our veins and a beat to love to move to, we were in Saturday morning heaven. No school. No church. The one day we had to do whatever we wanted, and this was it. Before MTV, Before VH1. This was our source of new music. Before internet and social media, this was how we saw new artists and heard new music. We spent the rest of our days playing outdoors with the songs of the morning running through our head. We took notes of the styles and begged our parents to buy us the latest fashions we saw on AB. What a glorious time it was and I wouldn't have wanted to spend my youth any other way!
